Proximity Manager (PM)
(Managing change globally)

An optional component of the Productivity+PLUS Desktop
from X.Systems, Inc.

Proximity Manager works with Epic and the other Productivity+PLUS applications to allow authors and managers to establish and leverage bindings between parts of content and external items or events. With PM, you can track the impact of projects, software releases, part numbers, or any number of other external elements, on your content. PM provides an easy way to define what information is to be captured for each binding, where in the content bindings can reside and what information will be available in the reporting phase. With PM, you gain control of an important dimension of your content and its role in
your overall operation.

WIth PM's flexible reporting function, you can configure reports for display in your browser, selecting fields, formats and sequences to determine where selected external elements impact your content. For example, if you are tracking part number impact, PM can generate a report that tell you everywhere in your content a particular part number is referenced or used. Using this information, you can plan for issuance of output pages when part number changes occur. If you wish to track engineering projects, PM will tell you everywhere in your content you have made changes based on a particular project so that updates to documentation may be easily organized and issued when the project is complete and implemented.

PM is a flexible, powerful resource that significantly improves your ability to fully manage activity in your content. PM also ensures that content changes made for designated reasons will not escape action or publication. PM is an important component in XSI's committment to keeping you in full control of your content environment.
